New Lens, New Birds

I sold a bunch of smaller lenses over the past week, and turned them into one big prime lens. I’m still covered on the wide and normal perspective, but it’s great to have the wonderful Canon 400mm f/5.6. It’s sharp, focuses fast, and has plenty of reach. It’s also a lot lighter than the zooms with the equivalent reach. Great for most of what I do.

American Goldfinches finally started showing up at the feeders. I haven’t had much time to photograph them, but I did capture some shots over the weekend. I included my favorite Prothonotary Warbler, and a couple cedar hollow residents, and a scruffy looking Carolina Chickadee. Eagle and Osprey fishing has picked up on the river. I hope to spend some quality time with them soon. Thanks for visiting!
